Funeral Services for Wilmirth Clawson Payne 91, of Bluewater, New Mexico will be held on Monday-September 27, 2010-10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1010 Bondad, Grants, New Mexico. Bishop William Griner will officiate. Burial will follow at the Pioneer Memorial Cemetery in Bluewater, New Mexico.
Visitation will be held on Monday-September 27, 2010 from 9:00 AM till 9:50 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Wilmirth was born on November 4, 1918 in Cannonville, Garfield County, Utah and she passed away on September 22, 2010 in Bluewater, New Mexico. She was the Daughter of William Leroy and Susie Clawson.
Her life was filled with loving service to her family and church. She loved her grandchildren, and her face would light up when they entered the room. In her spare time, she loved gardening/canning, quilting, reading, crossword puzzles and playing the piano. Her faith was strong in joy and in sowrrow and will forever be an example of Christ like love given freely to all who knew her as she endured to the end.
She is survied by her daughters: Sheila Cox and husband Elvis of Grants, New Mexico, Linda Yager and husband Tom of Dighton, Kansas, Kathy Tietjen Payne of Albuquerque, NEw Mexico, Virginia Rowley and husband Ted of Bluewater, New Mexico; 24 Grandchildren and 48 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild; Brothers: L. Daryl Clawson and wife Elsie of Ramah, New Mexico, W. Lavar Clawson and wife Doris of Ramah, New Mexico, Evert T. Clawson and wife Margaret of Bluesater, NEw Mexico and Sister: Lorna White of Bluewater, New Mexico.
She was married to Alleyn John Payne, Sr. on June 16, 1940 and later sealed in the Mesa Temple on November 4, 1952.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband: Allen J. Payne; Sons: Edward Leroy "Teddy" Payne and Allen J. Payne, Jr,; Two Grandhildren and one Great Grandchild; Parents: William Leroy Clawson and Susie Hamblin Clawson: Brothers: William Wayne Clawson, Leroy Clawson, Arlo H. Clawson, Ronald, J. Clawson and John Wayne Clawson; Sisters: Susie Clawson, Elsie Clawson, Mary Clawson, Minnie Bloomfield and Betty Jo Gibbons.
