A reception will be held for William "Bill" R. Nelson on Nov. 21, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the San Rafael Community Center.
William was born on May 26, 1947 in Eglin Field, Florida. He passed away at his home in San Rafael on Nov. 18, 2013. William died peacefully with his wife of 43 years at his side.
William was a U.S. Army Veteran of 14 years. He completed two years during the Vietnam War.
William is survived by his wife Ann Nelson; daughter Patricia and her husband Neil Winkler; brother Chester and Sandra Nelson; two sisters Kathy and Omega of Arizona; granddaughters Cheyanne Kettle, Natalya Winkler, and Hannah Winkler, and grandson William Nelson Verdueo, all from Neona, Texas; and friends Thomas C. Garcia, Sue Sanders, Feliz and Patsy Garcia, Lucas Garcia, Tino Garcia and family, Tony Garcia, Sally Saavedra and family, Ruby Garcia and family, Cindy and Chris Archuleta and family, Eric and Melissa Garcia and family; Theresa Garcia and family, and Chris and Mary Delucia and children Rusty and Cassey of San Rafael.
He was preceded in death by Father Chester U. Nelson, Sr., mother Nellie Carrier, and brother, John G. Nelson.
