Funeral Mass for Tranquilino K. Padilla, 86, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Wednesday-September 24, 2008-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the celebrant.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday-September 23, 2008-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mr. Padilla was born on September 19, 1922 in Maquino, New Mexico and passed away on September 22, 2008 in Grants, New Mexico.
He was a life resident of Grants and worked for the City of Grants for many years and in the Uranium Mines. He was also self employed selling Snow cones and enjoyed doing wood work as a hobby.
He is survived by his wife: Augustina Moya Padilla of Grants, New Mexico; Sons: Mel Padilla and wife Mary of San Rafael, New Mexico, Ronnie Padilla of Grants, New Mexico, Ruben Padilla and wife Mary of Grants, New Mexico; Clarence Padilla and wife Bessie of Grants, New Mexico, Ernest Padilla and wife Ruby of Grants, New Mexico, Steve Padilla and wife Margarita of Grants, New Mexico, Victor Padilla and wife Laurie of Woodward, Oklahoma; Daughters: Marcella Vigil and husband Fermin of Milan, New Mexico, Ida Sanchez and husband Alfonso of Mesa, Arizona, Denise Pohl and husband Anthony of Grants, New Mexico, Debbie Sanchez and husband Albert of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Geraldine Padilla and Paul of Grants, New Mexico; Sister: Daisy Saavedera of Grants, New Mexico; 41 Grandchildren, 55 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Parents: Tranquilino Padilla and Manuelita Trujillo Padilla; Daughter: Mary Helen Padilla; Brothers: Mino Padilla and Melecio Padilla.
Pallbearers will be: Mel Padilla, Ruben Padilla, Clarence Padilla, Ronnie Padilla, Victor Padilla, Steve Padilla,and Ernest Padilla.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: John Pohl, Fermin Vigil, Jr., Albert Sanchez, Jr., Ruben M. Padilla, Daniel Padilla, Fabian Padilla, Clarence Padilla, Jr. and Anthony Gallegos
