Funeral Services for Santiago "Jimmy" Calzada, Jr. 89, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Tuesday-February 8, 2011-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will celebrate. Burial with Full Military Honors by the VFW Lodge 3221 will be held at the Grants, Memorial Park.



A visitation will be held on Monday-February 7, 2011-6:00 PM with a rosary being held at 7:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.



Santiago was born on October 15, 1921 in McGaffey, New Mexico and he passed away on February 3, 2011 in Grants, New Mexico. He was a rancher all of his life in the Grants Area. His passion was for Horses and Cattle. He will be greatly missed and loved by his family and all who knew him.



Santiago served during World War II with the US Army.



He is survived by his children: Jessie Calzada and wife Rita of Grants, New Mexico, Margie Sutton of Orosi, California, Ponnie Garcia of Orsie, California, Josie Cepra of Dinuba, California, Rosie Florendo and husband Louie of Visalia, California and Ramona Gutierrez of Milan, New Mexico; 25 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.



He is preceded in death by his wife Esther Calzada; Parents: Meleico Calzada and Petra Duarte Calzada; Son: David Leroy Calzada; Daughter: Maria Elena Calzada; Brother: Graciano Calzada; Son in laws: Lloyd Sutton and Robert Garcia.



Pallbearers will be: Robert Sutton, William Sutton, Richard Garcia, Robert Garcia, Michael Gutierrez and Jeff Krieger.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Louie Flenado, Robert Martinez, Tammy Garcia, Steve Goodson, Aarian Calzada, Linda Duran, Jessica Calzada and David Savedra.
