June 23, 1920 — July 12, 2012

Funeral Mass for Sam J. Antonio 92, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-July 14, 2012-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. Full Military Honors by the VFW Lode 3221.



A Traditional Wake and Rosary will be held on Friday-July 13, 2012 at the Family Home on 1304 Donna, Grants, New Mexico.



Sam was born on June 23, 1920 in Anzac, New Mexico and he passed away on July 12, 2012 in Grants, New Mexico. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. He was a survivor of the Battan Death March.



He is survived by his sons: Gary Antonio and wife Debra of Colorado Springs, Colorado, William Antonio and wife Denise of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Daughters: Tina Valdez and husband James of Grants, New Mexico, Veronica Jaramillo of Grants, New Mexico, Andrea Ortega of Sells, Arizona, Alice Juan of Tucson, Arizona, Sandra Bowyer and husband Richard of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Sister: Andrea Corpuz of Laguna, New Mexico; 29 Grandchildren, 45 Great Grandchildren and 19 Great Great Grandchildren.



He is preceded in death by his wife: Lucy Antonio; Son: Leonard Antonio; Parents: Crecensio Antonio and Maria Antonio; Sister: Elizabeth Vallo; Brothers: Nick Antonio, Jose Antonio and John Sarracino.



Pallbearers will be: Rudy Barranca, Jim Valdez, Samuel Antonio, Carlos Gonzales,Jr., Leo Antonio and Gary Antonio, Jr.
