Services for Roy Vandever 72, of Prewitt, New Mexico will be held Friday-January 9, 2009-10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1010 Bondad, Grants, NM. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. Pastor Jacob Gonzales will officiate.
Mr. Vandever was born October 23, 1936 in prewitt, New Mexico and passed away on January 2, 2009 in Folsom, California. He was employed for many years with the Navajo Nation as a council delegate with the Baca-Prewitt Chapter House.
He is survived by his children: Cassandra Calladitto of Prewitt, New Mexico, Cindy Howe of Prewitt, New Mexico, Verna Kee of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sheila Vanderver of Prewitt, New Mexico, Sharon Vandever of Prewitt, New Mexico and Son: Jeremy Vandever of Pprewitt, New Mexico; 21 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren; Sisters; Lillian Garcia and Nellie Vandever both of Santo Domingo Pueblo, New Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Donna Vandever; Parents: Charley Little Vandever and Rosie Platero Vandever; Sons: Sherwood Vandever and Jerome Vandever; Brothers: Thompson Vandever and Nelson Vandever.
Pallbearers will be: Mark Calladitto, Myles Calladitto, Larry Etsitty, Jr., Jose Pizano, Duane Begay, Wallace Chacho, Louis Beareagle, Jonathan Nelson and Virgil Vandever.
