Funeral Mass for Rosita M. Lorenzo 97, of Paguate, New Mexico will be held on Friday-January 21, 2011-11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Catholic Mission in Paguate, New Mexico. Burial will follow at the Paguate Community Cemetery.
A Rosary and Traditional Wake will be held on Thursday-January 20, 2011-7:00 PM at the Home of Irvin Jose in Paguate, New Mexico.
Creator Called Rosita "Rose" Lorenzo home on January 16, 2011. She was born on August 28, 1911 to Francisco and Louisa Alonzo Lorenzo, the fifth of seven children. "A-wah-mii", matriarch of the Roadrunner Clan. She spent most of her life on the Laguna Reservation in Paguate Village as caretaker of the family home which is fondly referred to as "headquarters."
Rose is affectionely known as "Ya Ya O" by her great grandchildren and great great Grandchildren. Her laughter, Hugs and awesome cooking will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Lucia Lorenzo Jose and Josephine Lorenzo Ray; Brothers: Ray Lorenzo, Benjamin Lorenzo and David Lorenzo.
She is survived by her sister: Gertrude Lorenzo Francisco and husband Tony; Brother: George Lorenzo. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and in-laws.
Pallbearers will be: Her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Nephews.
A reception will follow the burial at the Elizabeth Bender Hall.
