Memorial Services for Rosalie Aann Hagel 64, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-January 8, 2011-1:00 PM at the Lutheran Church in Grants, New Mexico. Burial will be held in Elgin, Illinois.
Rosalie was born on August 27, 1946 in Elgin, Illinois and she passed away peacefully at her home after a lenghly illness on December 27, 2010 in Grants, NM.
Rosalie was born a twin, very small and premature which caused her vision impairment and other health problems such as extreme allergies. However she was a great example of overcoming adversity. She attended a school for the blind and college to get a teaching degree which she used to help others. She taught school for over 25 years in Gallup, New Mexico then moved to Grants whre she remaind active in retirement, tutoring and attending the Lutheran Church.
She could always be spotted by her Standard Poodel seeing eye dogs. She had the first Standard Poodle trained by "Leader Dogs for the Blind". Many people will remember them. Most recently BillyRay and Charter.
