Rita Trujillo

A funeral Mass for Rita M. Trujillo will be held at 10AM at San Rafael Catholic Church on Thursday, January 13, 2011. A rosary will be recited the prior evening, Wednesday, January 12th at 7PM at San Rafael Church.
Rita Trujillo was born in San Rafael, New Mexico on August 27, 1929 and died peacefully with her family at her side in Grants, New Mexico on January 9th, 2011.
Rita Mirabal Trujillo was a longtime resident of the village of San Rafael and worked for many happy years as a cook at St. Teresa's Catholic School in Grants while raising her four children and caring for her two sisters. She was also a member of the Third Order of Franciscans in San Rafael, New Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcelino Trujillo, her sisters, Dolores and Clara and Anna Mirabal, brothers Monico, Nabor, Adolfo, Juan and Ambrosio Mirabal.
Rita was loved and will be greatly missed by her children Antonio and wife Lucinda of San Fidel NM, Daniel and wife Reiko of Cincinnati Ohio, Clara (C.C.) and husband Mike McCullough of Cheltenham, England and Marcelino and wife Lilia of El Paso, Texas. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Antonio, Latricia, Lauryne, Kathleen (K.C.), Matthew, Isaac, Miranda, Rebecca, Joseph, and her many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Rita will also be missed by her loyal dogs, Vato and Roadie who faithfully accompanied her during her many walks through the vineyards.
The family would also like to thank the loving community of Good Samaritan Nursing Home who cared for Rita during her brief stay there. Any donations in honor of Rita Trujillo may be sent to Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Grants.
