Funeral Services for Rena J. James 86, of Prewitt, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-August 10, 2019-10:00 AM at the Thoreau Church of God, Pastor Florence Barker will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.
Rena was born on September 10, 1932 in Haystack, New Mexico and she passed away on August 6, 2019 in Prewitt, New Mexico.
Mom loved to sing, read the bible and memorize scriptures. She was a member of the Thoreau Church of God for many years. She was a prayer warrior and was known for being such a caring, loving and giving person. Over the years, she gained a lot of children from all over because of her loving and caring ways. Mom was always happy had a great sense of humor, and loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Some of her hobbies included, wood hauling with her sons, sewing, beading and making jewelry, and loved to go the Thoreau Flea Market of Saturdays with her son. She also enjoyed eating at Wagon Wheel in Thoreau with her son. We will miss her so much.
She is survived by her Sons: Freddie James , Peter Ray James and Steven Ray James all of Prewitt, New Mexico; Daughters: Roberta James of Prewitt, New Mexico and Lorraine James of Continental Divide, New Mexico; Sister: Tillie James of Haystack, New Mexico; 18 Grandchilren, 34 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
She is preceded in Death by her Husband: Fred C. James; Daughter: Genevieve James Loretta; Parents: Jimmy Johnston and Yi dah-bah "Desiderio" Johnston.
Pallbearers will be: Joey Garcia, Michael Loretto, Peter James, Orin Chacho, Fedd Johnson, Issac Johnson
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Freddie James, Steven James, Marvin James, Derek James, Hoskie Garcia, Franklin James, Jay Enrico.
