Ramon Leo Casaus

Ramon Leo Casaus was born on June 15, 1930, in Penasco, NM to Manuel and Fedelia Casaus. He passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at the age of 94.

Ramon was a lifelong resident of Grants. He worked and retired from Homestake Uranium Mine and from the Nevada Test Site. He was a hard worker and loved telling stories about the work he did in the mine. He loved singing, making people laugh, and doing anything to make them smile.

He is survived by his children: Ramon Leo Casaus Jr., Maryrose Make (Dale Maki), Lorraine Ellis (Tom Ellis) and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Casaus, daughter Suzanne Lozano, daughter Deborah Jean Gurule, granddaughter Nichole Krahn and grandson Devin Ellis.

Services will be held on April 11, 2025, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grants, NM. Rosary will be at 9:30am. Mass at 10am and burial to follow at Grants Memorial Park.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
