A memorial service for Pearl M. Lester, will be held on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Compassion Mortuary with graveside services following at Grants Memorial Park. Archie Barnes will officiate.
Pearl, a long time resident of Grants, was born in Oklahoma on Jan. 4, 1924, to Beulah and Sloan Prince, and passed away on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center following a long illness.
The family will host a farewell dinner at First Street Cafe at 3 p.m. after the services.
She is survived by her sons: Wilburn Prince and Bill Prince of Pahrump, Nev., and Henry Prince and Lynda Doyle of Bakersfield Calif.; daughter: Patricia McCoy of Milan and her son John W. Lester and his wife Jenny of Grants; grandchildren: Gail Jones and husband Wesley of Bakersfield, Calif., Donald McCoy, Laura Council and husband John, Brenda McCoy, Johnny Ray Lester and wife Debbie and Cherri Lester, all from the Grants area; great-grandchildren: Trina Rothermel, Kynion Jones of Bakersfield, Calif., Bryan McCoy of Burbank, Calif., Johnny Lee Council, Tricia Council, Tiffany McCoy, Kyle Lester, Brandon Lester and Justin Lester, all from the Grants area; great-great grandchildren: Cameron Hanson, Jaidyn and Zachary Rothermel, Abigayl Royal-Davis and Joshua Jones, all of Bakersfield, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Grants Good Samaritan Center.
