Paul Rawdon

August 7, 1933 — April 9, 2008

Funeral Mass for Paul T. Rawdon 74, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Friday-April 11, 2008-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. Father Emeric Nordeyer, OFM will be the Celebrant.



A rosary will be held on Thursday-April 10, 2008-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.



Mr. Rawdon was born on August 7, 1933 in Stroud, Oklahoma to the home of Tom and Annabel Rawdon and he passed away on April 9, 2008 in Grants, New Mexico. His family lived in Arizona, Texas and New Mexico and settled east of Datil on the Rawdon Ranch. He attended a one-room school on the Augustine Plains, then Magdalena grade school through High School, Graduating in 1952. He served in the United States Navy from 1952-1956 during the Korean Conflict.



He married his high-school sweetheart, Barbara Knoblock in July 1956, and moved to Grants, New Mexico where he worked for Standard Oil, and the Mining industry until his retirement. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and loved serving the Lord. His heart was open to everyone and he will be greatly missed.



He is survived by his wife: Barbara of the family home in Grants, New Mexico; Daughters, Margie Blatnik and husband, Frank of Portales, New Mexico, Donna Rutherford and husband Scooter, of Portales, New Mexico; Son: Jerry Rawdon and wife, Jennifer of Roswell, New Mexico; Sister: Voncielle Frazier of Scottsdale, Arizona; 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.



He is preceded in death by his parents: Tom and Annabel Rawdon; Brothers: Pete Rawdon and Don Rawdon.
