Miriam Fidel

Grants has lost a dear citizen and friend, Mary Fidel, a lifetime resident.



Mary was born on March 7, 1925 in San Fidel, New Mexico and passed away on February 5, 2009 in Gallup, New Mexico.



Mary was a wonderful aunt and will be remembered lovingly by numerous near and dear nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews.



Mary was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Teresa Catholic Church. She was also a life time member of the Franciscan Third Order while still in existence.



Many will remember Mary for her many years of employment at Grants State Bank.



She will mostly be remembered for her loving and caring ways. She was one of those people that never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her.



Marys death resulted from a fall that she encountered on Wednesday the 4th. She was in the hospital awaiting surgery when she suffered a cardiac arrest which took her life.



She is survived by her brother: Senator Joseph Fidel, and sisters in Laws, Dora Fidel, and Irene Fidel, A. H.'s widow.



She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Fidel, Sr. and most recently by her brother: A.H. Fidel, Jr.



Memorial Rosary and Mass for Miriam Maria Fidel 83, of Grants, New Mexico will be held Saturday-February 14, 2009-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Cemetery. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant.
