Services for Millie Jean Chavez 63, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-August 28, 2010-10:00 AM at the Potters House in Grants, New Mexico. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. Pastors Larry Teshima and Serafico Saavedra will officiate.
Visitation will be held on Saturday-August 28, 2010-9:00AM till 10:00 AM at the Potters House.
Millie was born on December 9, 1946 in Springerville, Arizona and she went into eternity on August 24, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She is also known as our local Chili Queen and she was a nana to all. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years: Senovio G. Chavez of Grants, New Mexico; Sons: Stephen Chavez and wife Christine of Grants, New Mexico, Albert Chavez and wife Antoinette of Grants, New Mexico and Daniel Chavez of Grants, New Mexico; Daughter: Michelle Chavez of Grants, New Mexico; 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren; Sisters: Virginia Long of Grants, New Mexico, Frances Michael of Clovis, New Mexico, Thelma Jaramillo of Grants, New Mexico, Karlene Ochoa of Tempe, Arizona and Jackie Pena of Bernalillo, New Mexico; Brothers: Ted Pena, Jr. of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Pete Pena of Nogales, Mexico, Jimmy Pena of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Joe Pena, Jr. of Houston, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Ted Pena, Sr. and Irene Pena; Sister: MaryAlice Jewel; Brothers: Edward Pena, Bobby Pena, David Pena and granddaughter Kathleen Chavez.
Pallbearers will be: Anthony Chavez, Israel Chavez, Elias Chavez, Danny Martinez, Nathaniel Chavez, and Hamp Porter, II.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Albert Chavez, Jr. Troy Moya, Tony Pena, Lance Lister, James Pena, Joseph Pena, Justin Roundy, Edward Padilla and Christian Peirson.
