Miguel Saavedra

Funeral Services for Miguel "Mike" Saavedra, 77, of San Rafael, New Mexico will be held on Thursday-June 9, 2005-10:00 AM at the San Rafael Catholic Parish. Fr. Matthew Keller will officiate. Burial will follow at the San Rafael Community Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3221.



Visitation will be held on Wednesday-June 8, 2005 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at the San Rafael Catholic Parish.



Mr. Saavedra was born on December 28, 1927 in Cubero, New Mexico and died on June 5, 2005 in San Rafael, New Mexico. He was a retired Uranium Miner and a Veteran of the US Army.



He is survived by his wife: Erminia Saavedra of San Rafael, New Mexico; Sons; Billy Saavedra, Sr. and Peter Saavedra both of San Rafael, New Mexico; Daughters: Henrietta Saavedra-Leos and fiance Lonnie Hudson of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Denise Saavedra of San Rafael, New Mexico, and Valerie Torrez of California; Sister: Carmen and Husband Johnny Stockman of Skiatook, Oklahoma; Brother: Pastor Clemente Saavedra and wife Ruth of Grants, New Mexico; Grandchildren: Krissy Saavedra of Grants, NM, Jaclyn Saavedra of Albuquerque, NM, Antonio Leos & fiancee Jennifer Barbaro of Santa Fe, NM, Jenna Leos of Santa Fe, NM, Jasmine Mata of Farmington, NM, Billy Saavedra, Jr. of Grants, NM, Francisco Mata of Farmington, NM; Great Grandchildren: Shantell Saavedra of Grants, NM, Dominique Navarro of Grants, NM, Francisco Leos of Santa Fe, NM, Analise Leos of Santa Fe, NM, and Sienna Torrez of California.



He is preceded in death by his parents: Antonio and Victoria Saavedra; Brothers: Pablo Saavedra and Serafico Saavedra



Pallbearers will be: Antonio Leos, Billy Saavedra, Jr. Francisco Mata, George Melones, Allen DuBois, David Saavedra



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Julian Torrez, Ramon Torrez, Alejandro Torrez, Rosaeia Torrez



Compassion Mortuary of Grants, is in charge of arrangements.
