Meddie J Valdez

With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Meddie Valdez on March 19, 2025, at the age of 69. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Meddie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, music, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Meddie was the loving husband of Patricia Valdez, and they celebrated 48 memorable years together, creating a life rich in shared experiences and warm memories. He took great pride in being a father to Michael and Nadine, and his role as a grandfather brought him immense joy as he doted on his beloved granddaughters, Miranda and Malorie. He is also survived by his sister, Rita Castillo, and his dear cousin, Lyola Olivar. Meddie was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Valdez, sister Gloria Ramirez, and brother Eddie Valdez, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

After many dedicated years of service, Meddie retired from the State of New Mexico Department of Corrections. Yet, his true passion lay in the rhythms of music. With an extraordinary talent as a drummer, he played in several bands over his lifetime, sharing his love for music and bringing joy to countless souls with his infectious spirit and rhythm.

A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am on March 28, 2025, at St. Vivian's Church, followed by a Mass at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest following the service.

The kindness, laughter, and melodies of Meddie Valdez will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. While he will be profoundly missed, his spirit will forever live on in our memories.
