Matthew Diaz

Funeral Mass for Matthew Diaz 18 of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Friday-May 15, 2009-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the celebrant.



A rosary will be held on Thursday-May 14, 2009-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Deacon Larry Chavez will officiate.



Matthew was born on September 28, 1990 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and he passed away on May 10, 2009 in Prewitt, New Mexico. He was a Senior at Grants High School at the time of his death.



He is survived by his parents: Edward Diaz and Laura Marquez Diaz of Grants, New Mexico; Brother: Michael Diaz and wife Marissa of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Sister: Michelle Martinez and husband Mario of Grants, New Mexico; Grandmothers: Erlinda Marquez of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Adeliana Diaz of Cubero, New Mexico; Nino & Nina: Leo Chavez and Isabel Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Nephews: Nathan Diaz of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jose Martinez of Grants, New Mexico; Niece: Aubrey Diaz of Albuquerque, New Mexico and many cousins.



He is preceded in death by his grandfathers: Gabriel Marquez and Antonio Diaz.



Pallbearers will be: Hunting Buddies ( Michael Diaz, Mario Martinez, Randy Marquez, Victor Diaz) Gabriel Trujillo, Gilbert Reyes, Michael Hatten, Adrian Madrid, Celestino Trujillo, LJ Perea, and Zeke Baca.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: The Class of 2009 and all of his friends.
