Burial Services for Mary F. Garcia, 82, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-August 19, 2006 at 12:00 PM at the Grants Memorial Park. Funeral Service will be held Saturday-August 19, 2006-2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, South Highway 53 Grants, New Mexico.
Visitation will be held on Friday-August 18, 2006-5:00-8:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.
Mary was born on May 27, 1924 in Llano, New Mexico to Abel Medina and Josefita Tafoya and passed away on August 13, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM.
A very loving and caring mother. She made friends wherever she went. Her smile and humorous personality reached out and touched many lives. She raised nine children. And at the time with five still at home, she brought a two month old son into her family. As a single mother, she worked many part-time jobs along with her full-time job as a social worker with the State of Utah. She will be dearly missed by her husband who was her caretaker for the last three years of her life. She will always be remembered in the hearts of her children and their families. Her extended family of Jehovah's witnesses will also miss her dearly. A special thanks goes out to the many members of her faith who have sacrificed there time and resources to make her death a special celebration.
She is survived by her husband Arthur T. Garcia, they were married on May 15, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada; Children: Gilbert Gonzales, Helen Rufi, George Gonzales and wife Sandy, Rudy Gonzales and wife Rosina, Evelyn Valdez and husband Andy, Bobby Griego and wife Almo, Steve Griego and wife Marcy, Manuel Medina, Lorraine Gowens, Ronnie Gonzales and wife Mandi & Gonzo, Darlene Bundy and husband Brian; Grandchildren: Debbie Gates, Robbie Smethurst, Nicole Anderson, James Gonzales, Stevie Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Eugene Gonzales, Enoch Gonzales, Ellen Gonzales, Selina Gonzales, Mika Medina, Andrea Valdez, Damian Valdez, Maria Valdez, Travis Griego, Anthony Griego, Eric Griego, Jamie Griego, Leah Griego, Alexis Griego, Aaron Griego, Sara Bachis, Mikayla Griego, DaraRae Gowens, David Gowens, Nadia Gowens, Jazmine Holloway, Nadine Garcia, Brenton Bundy, Jenae Bundy, James Dreben, and Ryan Dreben; Great Grandchildren: Cheyanne Gates, McKell Anderson, Wylie Anderson, Jeremey Gonzales, Zachery Gonzales, Kylee Gonzales, Ramon Jepson, Nick Valdez, Gabriel Garcia, Ozzie Valdez, Cylis Palou, Edwin Palou, Eric Griego, Anaya Gonzales, and Caden Bundy; Great Great Grandchildren: Jaxon Jepson.
She is preceded in death by her parents:Abel Medina and Josefita Tafoya; son Lawrence, grandson: Jeremey Gonzales; husbands: Cirilo Gonzales and Manuel Griego.
