Funeral Mass for Mary E. Barela, 60 of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Wednesday-May 20,2009-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday-may 19, 2009-7:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.
Mary was born on June 26, 1948 in Cubero, New Mexico and passed away on May 15, 2009 in Grants, New Mexico.
She is survived by her children: Nilda Barela of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Eugene Barela of Reno, Nevada; Sister: Priscilla Romero of Las Vegas, Nevada; Brothers: Orlando Romero and wife Lucille of Grants, New Mexico, Lucky Romero and wife Georgia of Grants, New Mexico, and Pete Romero and wife Clara of Elko, Nevada; Uncle Johnny Gabaldon and wife Theresa of Grants, New Mexico; Her favorite companion: Merlin.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Pete Romero and Nilda Baca Romero.
Pallbearers will be:Michael Gonzalez, Gerald Gonzalez, Roberto Gonzalez, Pete Romero, Paul Romero, Lucky Romero, II, Alex Olsen and Pat Jaramillo.
Honorary Pallbeares will be: James Gabaldon, Jay Gabaldon, Jeffrey Gabaldon, Manuel Garcia, Andrew Romero, Dwayne Romero, Tricie Garcia, Andy Gonzalez, Linda Lazcano, Audrey Lucero, Tammy Romero, Orlando Romero, Peggy Romero and Cathy Romero.
