Visitation for Marvin Jesse Lewis 92, of Ramah, New Mexico will be held on Tuesday-September 2, 2014 at 9:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ramah.
Funeral will be held at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ramah. Burial will follow at the Ramah Community Cemetery. Bishop Martin Romine will officiate.
Mr. Lewis was born on July 10, 1922 in Ramah, New Mexico to Jesse D. and Blanche (Clawson) Lewis. He passed away on August 27, 2014 in Ramah, New Mexico.
He graduated from Ramah High School and served in the Army Air Corps and the 260th Infantry during World War II. He was a rancher and later worked as Post Master at the Ramah Post Office. He also served in the Albuquerque, New Mexico mission for the LDS Church. He was a caring, loving, gracious, and humorous man. He was an amazing example to everyone who knew him and a friend to all.
He is survived by his children: Rita (Alan) Pratt, Lavern Morsbach, Rex (Bobette) Lewis, Wesley (Margie) Lewis, Andrea Nicoll, Jesse (Shawna) Lewis, Irene (Rex) Morris, Glenna Cox, John (Irene) Lewis, Bryant (Janice) Lewis, Brent (JoJo) Lewis, Brenda (Stephen Bohrnell) Lewis, Loretta Lewis, 45 Grandchildren, and 78 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Evan (Mary Eleanor) Lewis and Ben (Sherree) Lewis; and sisters: Alda Johnston and Venice Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Cookman Lewis, son Gregory Lewis, grandson Matthew Lewis, and great grandson Porter Morsbach; as well as his second wife Maxine Bond-Lewis, his brother Stanley Lewis, and his sisters Elsie Boyd and Lelia Lewis.
Pallbearers will be: Rex Lewis, Wesley Lewis, Jesse Lewis, John Lewis, Bryant Lewis and Brent Lewis
