Mabel Medina

Funeral mass for Mabel Medina 80 of Grants, New Mexico will be held Friday- April 8, 2011-9:30 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Father Matthew Keller will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.



A Rosary will be recited Thursday-April 7, 2011-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila to be led by Deacon Candidate Dennis Montoya.



Mabel was born in Llano, New Mexico on August 9, 1930, and she passed away on April 5, 2011, at her home in Grants after a lengthy illness.



She is survived by sons: Arthur Rodarte and wife Isabel, Fred Rodarte and wife Liz, Pat Rodarte and wife Dolores, and Darin Medina; daughters: Ida Ortiz and husband Ronald, Beverly Sanchez and husband George, Roxanne Lopez and husband Valerio; step-daughter Josephine Esparza; sisters: Gregorita Sanchez, Edna Marquez and husband Sonny; brothers: Conrado Tafoya and wife Ruth, Reynaldo Tafoya and wife Jane, Anselmo Tafoya and wife Pauline; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.



She is preceded in death by husband Jose Eloy Medina; son Ronnie Medina; parents: Onesimo Tafoya and Pelegrina Martinez; and brother, Alfonso Tafoya.



Pallbearers are Mark Rodarte, Brendan Rodarte, Ronald Ortiz, Jr., Angela Epps, Valeriano Lopez, Bonnie Vigil, Darin Medina, Jr., Eloy Medina, and Gina Stance.
