Services for Lionel P. Palacio, 77 of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Tuesday-November 25, 2008-11:00 AM at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan, New Mexico. Burial will military honors by the VFW Lodge #3221 will be at the Grants Memorial Park. Pastor Garland Moore will officiate.
A rosary will be held on Monday-November 24, 2008-5:00 PM and a Memorial Services at 6:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.
Mr. Palacio was born on September 23, 1931 in Superior, Arizona and passed away on November 21, 2008 in Grants, New Mexico.
He was a member of the San Rafael Catholic Church, VFW Lodge 3221 and the American Legion. Veteran of the US Army serving in Korea, Retired from Kerr McGee after 23 years of Service. Served as the President of the OCAW Union.
He is survived by his loving wife: Marcella Palacio of Grants, New Mexico; Children: Paula Palacio of Grants, New Mexico, Valri Ward and husband Cameron of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Robert Palacio of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Timothy Palacio and wife Yvonne of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Sisters: Grace Palacio of Tucson, Arizona, Ramona Garcia of Tucson, Arizona, Rachel Palacio of Tucson, Arizona, Nela Hadaway of Texas and Gloria Gegulas and husband Jack of Monterey, California; Brothers: Mario Palacio and wife Yolanda of Tucson, Arizona and Johnny Sainz and wife Stella of Mesa, Arizona; 15 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his son: Lionel Palacio and Parents: Eudor Palacio and Paula Palacio.
Pallbearers will be: Timothy Palacio, Robert Palacio, Richard Richardson, Michael Palacio, Dick Martinez and Cameron Ward.
