Leon Metzger

Graveside services for Leon R. Metzger 74 of Milan, New Mexico will be held on Friday-November 1, 2013-10:00 AM at the Grants Memorial Park. Pastor Peter James will officiate.



A Visitation will be held on Thursday-October 21, 2013 from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.



Leon was born on May 4, 1939 in Salida, Colorado and he passed away on October 27, 2013 in Grants, New Mexico. He worked at Homestake Mines for 27 years. Enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodwork and leather crafts.



He is survived by his loving wife: Barbara Metzger of Milan, New Mexico; Son: Scott Metzger and wife Louella of Milan, New Mexico; Sister: Margie Hunter and husband Tom of Bayfield, Colorado; Sister in law: Dolores Powell of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Brother in Law: Gordon and wife Jan of Cottonwood, Arizona; Daughter in Law: Denise Metzger of Grants, New Mexico; Granddaughters: Deidre Patel and husband Victor of Grants, New Mexico, Tanya Martin and husband Cesar of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Brook Metzger and fiancee Matt Peralta of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ashley Metzger and partner Alan Garlow of Milan, New Mexico; Grandson: Todd Metzger and wife Chelci of Milan, New Mexico; Great Grandchildren: Aiden, Ethan, Johnathan, Gracie, Taylor , Rhiannon and Morgan.



He is preceded in death by his Son: Terry Metzger; Parents: Leo Metzger and Lela Cook Metzger; Brother: Clifford Metzger.



Pallbearers will be: Scott Metzger, Todd Metzger, Cesar Martin, Matt Peralta, Chase Hardy and Hank Griego.
