Funeral Mass for Lena Sanchez 81 of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Wednesday-March 11, 2009-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the celebrant.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday-March 10, 2009-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Lena was born December 7, 1927 in Cubero and passed away at her home on March 9, 2009 in Grants, New Mexico.

She is survived by her children: Joe Sanchez and wife Sally of Milan, New Mexico, Emily Porter and husband Bobby of Grants, New Mexico and Kathy Garcia and husband Floyd of Grants, New Mexico; 9 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Procopio Sanchez; parents: Albino Saavedra and Esperiona Saavedra; Sons: Jackie L. Sanchez and Robert Sanchez; brothers: Santos Saavedra, Gilbert Saavedra and Timo Saavedra.

Pallbearers: Buddy Garcia, Jeremy Sanchez, Kristopher Restrepo, Phillip Ortega, Robert Abeyta, and Kenneth Jaramillo.
