Funeral Mass for Leandro Salazar, 90 of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-June 6, 2009-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors by the VFW of Post 3221 will be at the Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant.
A rosary will be held on Friday-June 5, 2009-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mr. Salazar was born on July 2, 1918 in Bernalillo, New Mexico and he passed away on June 3, 2009 in Grants, New Mexico. He was a Veteran of World War II. Member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, DAV, VFW, Legion of Mary, Third Order of St. Francis, and he was a Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his Special Friends and caretakers: Larry and Angela Baca of Grants, New Mexico; Children: Pablo Jaure of Grants, New Mexico, Helen Arrendo of Sacramento, California, Mary Saavedra of Grants, New Mexico, Prudence Saavedra and husband Pat of Milan, New Mexico, Inez Manning and husband Matt of Grants, New Mexico and Nikki Salazar and husband Ross of Albuquerque, New Mexico; the children of his second wife: the Dominguez Children; 31 Grandchildren, 43 Great Grandchildren and 14 Great Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wives: Ciprianita Salazar and Eduvigen Salazar; Son: Tony Jaure; Daughter in Law: Candy Jaure; Son in Law: Gilbert Saavedra.
Pallbearers will be: Larry Baca, Pat Dominguez, Jr., Jerry Jaure, Timo Jaure, Joshua Baca, Jeremy Baca and Patrick Saavedra.
