Lawrence Atsye

Funeral Services for Lawrence R. Atsye 84 of New Laguna will be held on Thursday-July 30, 2009-10:00 AM at the Calvary Gospel Chapel in Casablanca, New Mexico. Pastor Daniel Carr will officiate. Burial will follow at the Old Laguna Cemetery.



A traditional wake will be held on Wednesday-July 29, 2009-7:00 PM at the Atsye Family Home in Old Laguna.



Lawrence was born on December 2, 1924 in Old Laguna, New Mexico and he passed away at the family home in New Laguna, New Mexico on July 28, 2009. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from the Santa Fe Rail Road.



He is survived by his loving wife: Charlotte Ascott Atsye of New Laguna; Children: Sandra Luther and husband Byron of Winslow, Arizona, Linda Martin and husband Vaughn of Paguate, New Mexico, Venida McGlothin and husband Michael of Payson, Arizona, Janice Quiroz and husband Ramon of New Laguna, New Mexico, Lyndon Atsye and wife Melba of New Laguna, New Mexico; Brother: Paul Turner of San Fidel, New Mexico; 12 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.



He is preceded in death by his son: Emmett Atsye; Parents: Charles Atsye and Alice Marmon Atsye; Brothers: Michael Atsye, Daniel Atsye and Everett Atsye; Sisters: Emerald Leija and Geraldine Rice.



Pallbearers will be: Michael Luther, Brian Luther, Jason Atsye, Jeremy Martin, Travis McGlothin, Robert Atsye, Joel Martin, Andrew Atsye and Dominic Quiroz.
