Funeral Mass for Joe C. Sanchez 79, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-October 9, 2010-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant.
A Rosary will be held on Friday-October 8, 2010-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mr. Sanchez was born on April 14, 1931 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and he passed away on October 6, 2010 in Grants, New Mexico.
He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, past Adoration Coordinator, member of the Elks, Past Advisory Board Member of Senior Citizens, former Boy Scout Master. Worked for Anaconda AARCO for 36 years. He loved music and you could find him by following the radios, loved being with his family and friends, loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife: Angela Sanchez of Grants, New Mexico; Sons: Clifford Sanchez and wife Esther of Belen, New Mexico, Frank Sanchez of Bossier City, Louisiana and Thomas Sanchez and wife Bernadette of Grants, New Mexico; Sister: Naomi Gottlieb of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Frank Sanchez and Maria Inez Sanchez; Brothers: Lionel Sanchez and Elam Sanchez; Sisters: Cora Armijo and Lena Davenport and brother-in-law Robert Gottlieb.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bob Bowlin, Gilbert Manning, Chris Lopez, Joe C. Diaz, Abe Pena, Dwight Kstendieck, Joe C. Diaz, Fred E. Valdez and Ralph McQueaary.
