Funeral Mass for Joe John Martinez 57, of Gallup, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-May-21, 2011-10:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church. Fr. Patrick Shaffer, O.F.M. will be the celebrant. Private Burial will take place at a later date in Las Vegas.
Our beloved Husband, Dad, Son, Brother and Grandfather returned to his Heavenly Father on May 16, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on September 20, 1957 in Roswell, New Mexico.
Joe was a Master Barber for 35 years. He was employed at Pro-Cuts North at the time of his death. He was a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Karate. He also was an instructer for the Police Academy in Gallup UNM Branch.
He is survived by his loving wife: Kathryn Perez-Martinez of Gallup, New Mexico, Son: David Martinez of Gallup, New Mexico; Step Son: Jason Gutierrez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Daughters: Christina Salazar and husband Jonnathan of Gallup, New Mexico and Amanda Martinez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Step Daughters: Rhinnon Gutierrez of Belen, New Mexico, Marisa Martinez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ariel Gonzales and Brittany Gonzales of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Mother: Aurelia Martinez of Henderson, Nevada; Brother: Ron Martinez and wife Denise of Henderson, Nevada; Sisters: Juanita Jones and husband Billy of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Stella Vinson and husband Fred of Gallup, New Mexico; 10 Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father: Jose O. Martinez and Sister: Delia Martinez.
Pallbearers will be: Mark Spitz, Joe Swoboda, Alan Salazar, Gary Hill, Glen Wright, Steve Lawrence, Dale Dedrick, Johnny Mullins, Howard Estrada, Tom Cruce, Junior Olguin, Mike Chavez and Johnny Gonzales.
