Funeral Mass for Joe P. Gonzales 87, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Friday-April 13, 2012-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park with Full Military Honors by the VFW Lodge 3221.
A rosary will be held on Thursday-April 12, 2012-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Joe was born on May 19, 1924 in Quemado, New Mexico and he passed away on April 8, 2012 in Grants, New Mexico. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Emma Gonzales of Grants, New Mexico; Children: Johnny Gonzales of Grants, New Mexico, Ted Gonzales of Grants, New Mexico, Melvin Gonzales of Grants, New Mexico, Rudy Gonzales of Grants, New Mexico, Vernie Gonzales of Grants, New Mexico and Lucy Torrez of Milan, New Mexico; 22 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Parents: Perfilio and Virginia Gonzales: Sisters: Carmen Christy and Romilia Brito; Sons: Eloy Sanchez, Joe Gonzales, Jr., Melvin Gonzales, Ralph Gonzales and Bernie Gonzales.
Pallbearers will be: Odie Murrieta, Albert Jaramillo, George Gonzales, Fabian Gonzales, Johnny Magana, D.J. Torrez and Chris Rodarte.
Honorary Pallbearer: Raymond Gonzales
