Joe Gallegos

Joe Maurice Gallegos was a loved husband, father, papa, and friend. He passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours on Friday, December 22, 2023.
Joe was born in Clovis, N.M. on September 19, 1939. He graduated from Belen high school in 1958. Shortly after he enlisted in the U.S. army and served for 23 years. He later worked for the N.M. Corrections Dept , Cibola Cibola County sheriff’s and Future Foundations where he could continue his love of sports.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Priscilla G. Gallegos and Jose L. Gallegos, and his sisters, Rose Marie Moya and Marciella S. Montano.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Gallegos, Sons , Richard Villegas (Lucille), and Ronnie Villegas (Bev). Daughter, Silvia Apodaca. His granddaughter Mia Apodaca and his grandsons Andres Lazos and Richie Villegas II. His brothers, Rudolph L. Gallegos (Antoinette Gallegos), Manuel Gallegos, Christian Gallegos (Sibely Viera), and his sisters, Mary Esther Ulivarri (Gilbert Ulivarri Jr.), Barbara Ann Harris (Rick Harris), Mary Elizabeth Gallegos (Clay Holmes), and Margo G. Pena.
Pallbearers will be Andres Lazos, Richard Villegas, Anthony and Robbie Apodaca, Jeremy Barnes and Xavier Arias. 
Services will be held on December 29, 2023 at St Theresa Catholic Church, Rosary will be at 9:30AM, Mass will be at 10AM, Burial following at Grants Memorial Park Cemetery.
