WHITEHORSE LAKE, NM - A funeral service for Jimmie Jake Thompson, 81 will be Wednesday, November 27th at 10:00am at Compassion Mortuary in Grants, New Mexico. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park.



Jimmie was born August 1, 1932, in Whitehorse Lake, NM. He was born for the Ute Clan, born into the Mountain-folded-under-cove.



He was married to Helen J. Thompson over fifty years. He died on November 24, 2013 at Crownpoint PHS with his family by his side.



Jimmie attended grade schools in Ignacio, Colorado and Albuquerque Indian School.



He had worked over twenty years with the Union Pacific Railroad in West Coast States: Nebraska, Kansas, Wyoming, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Nevada, Idaho, Utah and California. He had work with the Hospah Oil Field for many years. He served as Whitehorse Lake Chapter President for one term year; as President and Vice-President for Senior Citizen at Whitehorse Lake. He was the Health Board Representative for Whitehorse Chapter. He worked with Foster Grandparents at Pueblo Pintado School for numerous years. Jimmie enjoyed socializing with people, attending and supporting various community events. He always supported the shoe games and song dances. He liked watching wrestling. He loved working with his live stocks all the time. Jimmie enjoyed and always looked forward to being with his grandchildren. He had 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.



Jimmie is survived by his wife, Helen J. Thompson and his children: Juanita Begay, Mable Larry, Martha & Robert Fernando, Marita & Albert Farley, Lorenzo Thompson and Corrina & Martin Allgire and sister, Jennie J Shorty from Tohajilaii, NM; and other siblings: Rosemary J Jim, Virginia J Pinto, Wilson Jake, Arthur Jake, P Rodriquez and L Rodriquez.



Jimmie is preceded in death by his father, Sam Jake, Aunt Fannie Thompson, Sister: Irene Jake, Brother: Raymond Thompson and his son, Jimmie Junior Thompson and daughter, Marlene J. Fraker,



Pallbearers are: Lorenzo Thompson, Coby Farley, Albert Farley, Dexter Begay, James J Begay, Harry John.



Honorary Pallbearers: Neon Farley, Xavier Allgire, Pierce Allgire, Phillip Contreas, Alexander Wytewa, Garrett Begay, Aiden Maloney,



A reception will take

place at Whitehorse Lake Chapter House following the burial service.
