Memorial services for Thomasine "Tommie" Shepherd, 81, will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019, at Compassion Mortuary in Grants, New Mexico.
Tommie was born February 16, 1938 in Wood County, Rock Hill, Texas and passed suddenly on June 22, 2019 at home. She moved here from Dallas, TX and has called Grants home for over 40 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime companion: Duane Berry-hill; sisters: Lawanna Keeth and Lea Milner; stepdaughter: Cheryl Chambliss; and great-grandson: Kyle Killough.
Tommie is survived by her daughter: Paula Elkins and husband Buddy of Grants; sister: Lita Mitchell, of the home; granddaughters: Bobbie Cassel and husband Don, Brooke Chambliss; and great grandson: Jacob Chambliss, all of Alvin, TX; her extended bonus family of grandchildren and many great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends and other family members who loved and will miss her.
Private interment will be at a later date.
