Funeral Services for Jerry F. Farris 92, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Monday-May 24, 2010-10:00 AM at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Sunday-May 23, 2010-2:00 PM-6:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.
Jerry was born on June 15, 1917 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and passed away on May 20, 2010 in Grants, New Mexico.
He served his country in the US Coast Guard in Vallajo, California, was a Shriner and a 32nd Degree Mason. He also was a life time member of the Elks Lodge.
He enjoyed getting together with family and friends to play his guitar, he loved to play and listen to old time Country Music.
A special thank you to Rhonda Moore, case manager with PCM and all his nurses that provided care and compassion to our father will never be forgotten.
Jerry was in the mining industry for most of his life and was a Principle Partner in Farris Mines and Construction Company in the Grants Area.
He is survived by his daughters: Sherry Smith and husband Lyndell of Bloomfield, New Mexico and Judy Rickerson and husband Robert of Silver City, New Mexico; Grandchildren: Kevin Rickerson of Greeley, Colorado, Tater Smith and fiance Krista of Bloomfield, New Mexico Juleen Parks and husband Chad of Greeley, Colorado and Stacy Smith of Bloomfield, New Mexico; Great Grandchildren: Russell Smith of Bloomfield, New Mexico, Kaylyn Rickerson of Andover, Massachusetts, Madeline and Justin Parks of Greeley, Colorado; Sister: Ida Barlow of Grants, New Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Ethel Organ Farris; Parents: Jerry B. and Pearl Farris; Brother: Qumiby (Tink) Farris; Sister: Marjorie Minoletti; Brother-in-laws: Pete Minoletti, Bill Barlow and a nephew: Bradford C. Farris.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
pallbearers will be: Lyndell Smith, Robert Rickerson, Kevin Rickerson, Russell Smith, John Michael Rowe and Paul Rowe.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Tater Smith, Chad Parks and all his special nephews and nieces and many many loving friends.
