Graveside services for Jack Wayne Damron 79, of Milan, New Mexico will be held on Tuesday-May 22, 2012-10:00 AM at the Grants Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Monday-May 21, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.
Jack was born on June 28, 1932 in Canadian County, Oklahoma and he passed away on May 17, 2012 at his home in Milan. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Korea and was a Life Member of the DAV. Was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He was a true friend to many, He worked in the mines and owned numerous business over his lifetime. He touched many lives and was a giving and loving man, who would give hs "Dickie" Shirt right off his back to whomever needed it. He loved to fish, hunt and was a true outdoorsman. He was truly a "Jack" of all trades. He taught all his children to love and respect the outdoors.
He is survived by his loving wife: Geraldine of the family home in Milan; Son: Jerry L. Damron and wife Sophenia of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Daughters: Jackie Brooks of Mountain Home, Arkasas, Joy DeGroat and husband Gary of Grants, New Mexico and Ladeana Damron of San Rafael, New Mexico; Grandchildren: Jamie Leann Starvo of Killeen, Texas, Tia Oxner of Trona, California, Mariha Damron and fiance Stuart Love of Phoenix, Arizona, Bradley Damron of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Robert Damron Howell of San Rafael, New Mexico, James DeGroat of Grants, New Mexico and Travis DeGroat and wife Amy of Los Lunas, New Mexico; Great Grandchildren: Katlin Atkinson, Matthew Monahan, Isiah Monahan, Jacob Monahan, Amy Rose DeGroat, Trayven DeGroat, Zander DeGroat, Templer Horey and one on the way; Several Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: W.O. Damron and Ruth Burkey Damron; Brother: Edward Eugene Damron.
Pallbearers will be: James DeGroat, Travis DeGroat, Stuart Love, Jerry Damron, Bradley Damron, and Gary DeGroat.
