Funeral Mass for Idzemio Sammy Chavez 79, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Wednesday-August 10, 2011-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park.



Idzemio was born on June 6, 1932 in San Rafael, New Mexico and he passed away on August 7, 2011 in Grants, New Mexico. He is a retired Uranium Miner.



He is survived by his children: Christine Quintana of Grants, New Mexico, Alfred Chavez and wife Lorraine of Grants, New Mexico, John Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tom Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Granddaughters: Nancy Quintana of Grants, New Mexico, Tracey Quintana of Grants, New Mexico, Christine Saavedra and husband Sammy of Bernaillo, New Mexico, Sabrina Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chasity Marquez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Alyssa Chavez of Grants, New Mexico and Tessa Chavez of Grants, New Mexico; Great Grandchildren: Ryan Garcia, Kylee Sandoval and Sami Saavedra; Sisters: Ruth Armijo and Marie Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Care Giver: Zenaida Gutierrez; Sisters in laws: Nila Bermudez and husband Henry of Grants, New Mexico, Irene Varela and husband Virgil of Pecos, New Mexico, Jessie Segura and husband John of Pecos, New Mexico, Carmen Rougemout of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Rose Romero of Grants, New Mexico, Lillian Armijo and husband Cleo of Pecos, New Mexico; Brother in laws: Cipriano Rougemount and wife Erlinda of Pecos, New Mexico, Cleofes Rougemont, Jr. and wife Della of Grants, New Mexico.



He is preceded in death by his wife: Nancy "Rougemont" Chavez; Parents: Daniel and Anita Chavez; Sister: Dora Diaz; Brothers: Paul Chavez, Sonny Chavez, David Chavez. Brother and Sister in law: Charlie Porter and Gerldine Porter.



Pallbearers will be: Ryan Garcia, Eloy Jaramillo, Gary Varela, Dion Sandoval, Billy Tanuz, Jr. and Hamp Porter.
