Memorial Services for Helen Marie Worley Kohlmeyer will be held on Saturday-September 3, 2011 at the Broken Arrow Mission.
Helen was born in Mercer County, PA on July 12, 1925. She grew up on a farm in Western, PA. She graduated from Mercer High School then went on to become a nurse at Bashline Rossman Hospital in Grove City, PA where she worked for many years as a supervisor of the OB Ward.
She married Paul V. Kohlmeyer on April 26, 1946 after corresponding with him as he served in Europe with the 101st Airborn during World War II. They settled in the Eau Claire, PA area where Paul worked for many years in the local strip mines. Meanwhile their only daughter Ann Louise Kohlmeyer Kontz was born on February 27, 1949. Helen enjoyed being a stay at home mom while doing volunteer work at her church and local 4H club. They purchased a farm so she added farm wife to her many titles. She also spent many years as caretaker of her invalid parents.
In 1987 after retiring they moved to Broken Arrow Bible Ranch where Helen became the camp nurse, a position she filled until just a few years ago. She also worked hard at cooking and cleaning and doing the other things that needed to be done at BABR.
She spent her whole life helping others. When her body could no longer keep up she became a real prayer warrior, having hundreds of people that she regularly prayed for.
Helen is enjoying that great reunion with her Lord and Savior and the multitudes of friends and family who have gone before her. She left her earthy family on August 29, 2011 in Gallup, New Mexico after a short bout with cancer.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 65 years, Paul Kohlmeyer of Vanderwagen, New Mexico; Daugher: Ann Kohlmeyer Kontz also of Vanderwagen, New Mexico; 4 loving Grandchildren: Kathleen Sowers of Gallup, New Mexico, Adam Kontz of Springdale, AR, Paul Kontz of Gallup, New Mexico and Beckie Jeffery of Windsor, California; 14 delightful and much loved great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Clyde and Bessie Worley and a sister, Edna Rodgers.
