Funeral Service for Grace D. Vandever 81 of Grants & Prewitt, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-March 21, 2009-10:00 AM at the Prewitt Assembly of God Church, Prewitt, New Mexico. Burial will follow at the Thoreau Community Cemetery. Pastor Ruth Droll will officiate.
Grace was born into the Towering House People and for the Sage Brush People on September 10, 1927 in Haystack, New Mexico and she passed away on March 18, 2009 in Grants, New Mexico.
She is survived by her children: Rita Willie of Thoreau, New Mexico, Margaret Largo of Grants, New Mexico, James Largo, Jr. of Haystack, New Mexico, Albert Largo of Ganado, Arizona; SistersL Hannah D. Long of Prewitt, New Mexico and Bessie D. Vandever of Haystack, New Mexico; Brother: Thomas Desiderio of Haystack, New Mexico; 15 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Tony Vandever; Parents: Esidero and Martha Desiderio; Brothers: Louis Desiderio, Sr. and Johnnie Desiderio: Sisters: Yidibah D. Johnson, Donna D. Martinez and Helen D. Garica.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Donald, Alvin Largo, Sr., Kenny Largo, Tyrone Albert, Kristy Albert, Donavan Yazzie.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: James Largo, Jr., Albert Largo, Gregory Albert, Gabriel Albert, Ben Yazzie.
