Gary Rodarte

January 17, 1959 — April 19, 2015

Rosary and Funeral Mass for Gary Henry Rodarte 56, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Monday-April 27, 2015-9:30 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.



Visitation will be held on Sunday-April 26, 2015-from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.



Gary was born on January 17, 1959 in Embudo, New Mexico and he passed away on April 19, 2015 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.



Gary moved to Grants, New Mexico with his parents and attended Elementary School at the Pink School for Special Needs Children. He then attended Middle School at Franklin, Jr. High and Graduated from Grants High School. He was known as "Pinon" to his friends and acquaintances in the community.



Gary participated in Boxing and playing baseball with his dad as coach. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers and doing wood crafts with wood which he would give away to friends and relatives. He would sometimes sell his crafts.



He had a big love for his dogs, Junior and Smokey. He raised and breed Chihuahuas and loved to grow vegetables, He would enter them in the County Fair for which he won several First Place Ribbons. He liked to play Basketball and run Track in the Special Olympics where he always got 1st Place. He love the road trips. He worked for Homestakes uranium Mines for 2 years then with the City of Grants for 16 years with the Parks and Recreation Department. He was involved with the Day Hab helping other Disabled persons and became friends with many of them.



He is survived by his Father: Henry Rodarte of Grants, New Mexico; Sister: Marvella Shaw and husband David of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Brother: Elmer Rodarte and wife Sandra of Grants, New Mexico; Nephews: Christopher Rodarte, Damien Deherra, Alejandro Rodarte, Alexander Rodriguez; Nieces: Lori Ann Rodarte and Gabriella Chamberlain and husband William, Ryleigh Chamberlain, Ember Lynn Rodarte, Tommi Rae Rodarte, Shelby Estrada and Celeste Estrada.



He is preceded in death by his Mother: Ann Elsie Martinez Rodarte and Brother: Ronnie Phillip Rodarte; Grandparents: Frumencio Rodarte, Eliza Rodarte, Atocha Martinez; Uncles: Elmer Rodarte, Enos Rodarte, Gabriez Vega; Aunts: Jenny Vega and Maria Vialpando; Cousins: Jeffery Gurule, Fernando Rodarte, Arron Rodarte, Elizabeth Rodarte, Patricia Armijo, Oliver, Jr. Rodarte and Jerome Rodarte.



Pallbearers will be: David Rodarte, Emerson Maestas, Elmer Enos Rodarte, Fred Rodarte, Daniel Bustamonte and Cameron Stark.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Christopher Rodarte, Steven Shaw, Robert Shaw, Matthew Shaw, Lori Ann Rodarte, and Gabriella Rodarte.
