Born July 30, 1982 Francisco was the only son of Ruben and Rosemary Barajas, the youngest of 3 kids. Francisco passed away at home in Albuquerque, NM on March 20, 2019 at the age of 36 after a long battle with a brain tumor. He was surrounded by his loving family; his wife, his parents, sisters, aunties & nephews and close friends.

Francisco fought to the very end and gave it all he had. Francisco was first diagnosed in 2009 with Astrocytoma a low grade benign brain tumor, and he went through surgery to remove the tumor followed by 30 days of radiation therapy. In 2017 there was signs of regrowth of the Astrocytoma tumor. In June Francisco went through another surgery to remove the tumor, followed by 12mos of chemotherapy treatments. In January of 2019 Francisco was showing signs of tumor regrowth yet again, an MRI was done which two tumors were now shown. Another surgery was scheduled for Feb.12, after surgery this tumor was identified as Glioblastoma, a more aggressive stage 4 terminal cancer. After surgery he was making great progress with impatient therapy. A week after surgery he was taken back to the hospital with an infection. With the complication of the infection and tumors there was nothing else that could be done without causing more harm. It was decided to take him home to be comfortable on hospice care where he passed surrounded by his loving family. In 2002 he enlisted in the United States Army after 5mos and 26 day.

Francisco briefly worked as a correctional officer in Grants before relocating to Albuquerque where he worked at the Wal-Mart distribution center in Los Lunas, at Isleta Casino, Route 66 Casino and Sandia Casino as a security officer. He more recently worked for Albuquerque Public Schools as a CSA security officer, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He was loved by the school staff as well as students with his charismatic personality. He enjoyed making people laugh, and was always there to help a friend in need.

He was loved by many, he always greeted everyone with a big hug and a smile and he had a nickname for most friends. On his days off he enjoyed spending time with family; mostly enjoyed with his wife and daughter making the most out of each day. His hobbies were trying new restaurants, watching new movies and watching his favorite football team the Oakland Raiders play, and watching UFC fights. (You hold the key to my Heart; always have, always will. Even when we are apart we are together still. Love you, Calandra)
