He is survived by his Loving Wife: Josie Mares Otero of Gallup, New Mexico; Sons: Fernando Otero, Jr, and Robert Otero both of Gallup, New Mexico; Brothers: Grave Otero of Gallup, New Mexico, Leroy Otero of Denver, Colorado, Cruz Otero of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ricky Otero and Danny Otero both of Gallup, New Mexico and Dino Otero of Los Lunas, New Mexico; Sisters: Lourdes Sanchez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lorraie Jocques of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Helen Otero of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Veronica Montoya of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Parents: Cruz Otero and Trinidad Romero Otero; Sister: Emma Montoya.
