Funeral Mass for Evangeline O. Barela 76, of San Mateo, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-July 6, 2013-10:00 AM at St. Vivian's Catholic Church in Milan, New Mexico. Burial will follow at the San Mateo Community Cemetery.
A rosary will be held on Friday-July 5, 2013-7:00 PM at St. Vivian's Catholic Church.
Evangeline was born on April 17, 1937 in San Mateo, New Mexico and she passed away on July 2, 2013 in San Mateo, New Mexico.
She is survived by her Sons: Eric Thomas Barela, Sr. and wife Veronica of Grants, New Mexico and Ernest Steve Barela, Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Brothers: Milton Ortega of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Gary Ortega of San Mateo, New Mexico; Sisters: Lena Diaz of San Mateo, New Mexico, Pauline Gonzales of San Mateo, New Mexico, Jeannie Marquez of Grants, New Mexico and Beatrice Martinez of Grants, New Mexico; Companion: Albert Abril of Arizona; Grandchildren: Eric Barela, Jr. and Fiance Janelle, Jackie Mirabal and Jennifer Mirabal and Great Grandchildren: Isabella, Estevan, Aaliyah, Janessa, Jadie Rae, Karissa, Cardineo, Tomas and Arianna.
She is preceded in death by her Husband: Ernest Barela, Sr.; Parents: Tomas Ortega and Margarita Gutierrez Ortega; Brother: Ernest Ortega and Sister: Liz Marquez; Daughter-in-law: Dorinda Barela.
Pallbearers will be: Eric Barela, Jr., Vincent Ortega, Toby Dean Martinez, Gilbert Gonzales, Anthony Marquez and Lawrence Abril.
