Esiquel Gonzales

Funeral Service for Esiquel "Zeke" Gonzales, Sr. 79, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Thursday-September 20, 2012-6:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary. Pastor Lewis Martinez will officiate. A Memorial Mass and Burial will be held at a later date in Ponderosa, New Mexico.



Viewing will be held on Thursday-September 20, 2012 from 5:00 PM till 6:00 PM at Compassion Mortaury.



Zeke was born on September 16, 1933 in Ponderosa, New Mexico and he passed away on September 17, 2012 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He was a Veteran of the US Navy. He served with the Cibola County Sheriff Office for 13 years, worked for the Mines, Coached Baseballfor 20 years and was an Umpire for 33 years, Member of the Fire Department, Elks Lodge and Commander of the American Legion Post 60 for 6 Years, Reserve Officer for the New Mexico Game and Fish and President of C.C.A.A.B.C Baseball League for 10 years.



He is survived by his wife: Frances Gonzales of Grants, New Mexico; Sons: Steve Gonzales and wife Raylene of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Esiquel "Zeke" Gonzales, Jr. and wife Brenda of Grants, New Mexico and Nathan Gonzales and companion Tyra of Grants, New Mexico; Daughter: Patricia Palomares and husband Arturo of Las Vegas, Nevada; Brother: Liberato Gonzales of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 16 Grandchilden and 10 Great Grandchildren.



He is preceded in death by his parents: Joe Gonzales, Sr. and Persingula Gonzales; Brothers: Tony Gonzales, Ernie Gonzales, Joe Gonzales, Jr. and Eulaio Gonzales; Sister: Linda Gutierrez.



Pallbearers will be: Samuel Gonzales, Anthony Gonzales, Logan Lewis, Rosalio Gonzales, Zeke Gonzales, III, Jerome Abeita.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Eustacio " Happy" Ortega, Miguel Garcia, Jose Augilar, Nestor Garcia, Michael Garcia, Jaime Serrano, Ronnie Garcia and Frank Becerra.
