Ervin Freeland, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully passed away on January 6, 2025, in Thoreau, New Mexico, at the age of 71. Born on October 24, 1953, in Truth or Consequences, NM, Ervin lived a life filled with love, family, and unforgettable memories.
Ervin is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Freeland, of Thoreau and his three brothers John, Jack and Larry Freeland. He was a proud father to three daughters: Shelly Segree, Tammie Madrid, and Valerie Shadrick, along with his five sons: Glenn (Dusty), Bill & Randy Myers, Lonnie & Johnny Shadrick. A proud grandfather, Ervin is remembered fondly by his 15 grandchildren, and he was most blessed with the joy of 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense happiness to his life.
Throughout his years, Ervin was an embodiment of strength and kindness, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Freeland, and his mother, Gladys Munsell, who guided him with love throughout his upbringing.
Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Ervin's life during his funeral service, which will be held on January 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with the service concluding at 11:00 AM. The ceremony will take place at 244 Mountain Rd, Grants, NM, 87020.
As we remember Ervin Freeland, we celebrate a life well-lived and the loving legacy he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
