Rosary and Funeral Mass for Elsie Mary (Ferrari) Bernabe 95 of Albuquerque, New Mexico will be held on Friday-September 15, 2017-10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery. (Her Grandson) Father Christopher Bernabe will celebrate.



Vespers and viewing will be held on Thursday-September 14, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Father Matthew Keller will celebrate.



Elsie was born on January 11, 1922 at St. Mary Hospital in Gallup, New Mexico and she passed away on September 4, 2017 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.



Elsie lived in Gibson until she was 6 years old. They then moved to Gamerco until her 8th Grade then moved to Gallup. She went to Sacred Heart School and graduated in 1940. Then went to St. Anthony School of Nursing affiliated with Loretta College. World War II interfered in her college. She then Married Louis B. Bernabe in 1948 and had 3 Children.



She belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America (Grand Regent), VFW Auxiliary, St. Patrick Circle, Served as a Cub Scout and Brownie Leader, RMCH Auxiliary (Charter Member). She was also on the Board of Directors at RMCH, Pen Women Club, Espsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. Elsie was also a member and officer of the DOE's.



She is survived by her Daughter: Louise Watkins of Bluewater Lake, New Mexico; Sons: Michael L. Bernabe of Simi Valley, California and Benjamin F. Bernabe of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.



She is preceded in death by her Loving Husband: Louis B. Bernabe; Parents: Tony Ferrari and Guditta (Aleva) Ferrari; Sister: Venes Uliana; Brothers: Cecil Ferrari, Reed Joseph Ferrari; Aunt and Uncle: Consiglia and Joe Ferrari.



Pallbearers will be: Aaron Bernabe, Matthew Bernabe, Jared Karshner, Matt Witkowski, Mike Gaffney, Javier Telles.



In lieu of Flowers donations may be sent to the RMCH Auxiliary, 1901 Red Rock Drive, Gallup, New Mexico 87301 in Elsie's name.
