Eloy M. Jaramillo was born in Bibo, New Mexico on June 23, 1941, the 4th born child of Frank and Theodora Jaramillo. Eloy passed away peacefully on April 19, 2023 surrounded by family. He was a resident of Grants, NM most of his life where he worked and raised his family. Throughout the years, Eloy owned and operated a gas station with his brothers, worked in the mines for many years until they closed in 1982, became self-employed and ran a successful cleaning business, and his final occupation before retirement, a school bus driver. Eloy was full of energy and always liked to stay busy. He loved to cook, play his guitar, sing, and tell jokes. He enjoyed building things out of wood. He was funny and kind and never met a stranger. He will be missed greatly by many who knew and loved him. Eloy was preceded in death by his parents – Frank and Theodora Jaramillo, brothers Pat and Fino Jaramillo. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Jaramillo; children & (grandchildren) Terry Jaramillo and wife Debra (Reina, Valerie, Kimberly) and Valerie Trujillo and husband Harold (Adrianna, Joshua, and Josiah); 7 great- grandchildren; sisters Ellia Fernandez, Joyce Shinault and Lydia Miller; sister-in-law Dora Jaramillo as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A viewing and rosary is scheduled to be recited on Thursday, April 27 at Compassion Mortuary in Grants at 120 N 3rd Street in Grants, NM from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be conducted at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church at 213 Smith Street in Grants on Friday, April 28 at 12 noon. Burial will immediately follow at Grants Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers are Eddie Jaramillo, Frank Shinault, Jeff Jaramillo, Johnny Chavez, Eddie Martinez, and Ernest Serna. Honorary pallbearers are Sharon (Katie) Moleres, Kathy Martinez, Elaine Tafoya, Lee Ann Burress, Gwen Sena, Rosanna Montoya, Juana Abeyta, and Kimberly Fraley.
