Duane Overstreet

February 26, 1956 — August 30, 2022

Celebration of life for Duane will be held on Saturday September 17, 2022 at 5:30pm at the

Sanchez residence at 1133 El Capitan Loop in Grants. New Mexico.



Duane was born on February 26, 1956 in Walnut Creek, California to Dolores Arlene and Bill

Lyle Overstreet and he passed away on August 30, 2022 in Grants, New Mexico.

He grew up in several towns in California including Walnut Creek and Benicia as he and his

family made their way to New Mexico. He married Jade Sanchez on September 14, 2013 in Las

Vegas, Nevada. They shared a happy and loving life together in Grants, New Mexico.

Duane was employed in several jobs including a potato farm, mines, mills, construction and

finally where he was most recognized at Sky City Casino as a security guard and slot attendant.

He was well known for his great work ethic and award winning customer service. He retired

when his health started to fail him.



Duane loved working in his garden, listening to music, playing his favorite online slot games,

traveling with his wife. He was very dedicated to his faith and attended St. Teresa in Grants,

New Mexico. He loved visiting with family and friends, if you met him once he was always your

friend. He loved helping people out and making people laugh with his unfiltered humor. His

favorite time was just cruising around with his wife and nephew Micah. He was truly one of a

kind, beautiful soul that will truly be missed.



He is survived by his sisters Mary Gay (Steve Gay), Debbie Ellefson (Chris Ellefson), Sandy

Chavez (Raymond Chavez) and his brother Randy Overstreet (Pam Overstreet). His wife Jade

Sanchez and numerous nieces and nephews as well as his Acoma inlaws who considered him

family.



He was preceded in death by his parents Dolores and Bill Overstreet. Brother Jimmy Lyle

Overstreet.



Duane will be greatly missed and has left a huge void in this world. His kindness and humor are

unmatched. He will always hold a special place in the hearts of all the people he came across.
