Services for Dorthey Anna Worthen 82 of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Friday-May 15, 2009-1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Grants, New Mexico. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. Pastor Hugh Rogers will officiate.



Visitation will be held on Thursday-May 14, 2009-2:00-7:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.



Mrs. Worthen was born on October 18, 1926 in Phoenix, Arizona and she passed away on May 12, 2009 in Grants, New Mexico.



Dorthey graduated from Grants Union High in 1943, and worked 33 years as Secretary of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her work as a Literacy Volunteer and English as a Second Language.



She is survived by her sons: Dee Worthen and wife Charlotte of Grants, New Mexico, Kerry James Worthen and wife Edna of Milan, New Mexico, Leroy Worthen and wife Allison of Greeley, Colorado, Donald Jack Worthen of Grants, New Mexico, and Bo Worthen and wife Betti of Meridian, Idaho; Daughters: Sherry Estes and husband Steve of Green River, Wyoming, Valerie Sue Ricca of Grants, New Mexico, and Elaine Garlow and husband Jerry of Grants, New Mexico; Brother: Melvin Heath and wife Jackie of Grants, New Mexico; 31 Grandchildren, 48 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.



She is preceded in death by her husband: Obie Worthen; Parents: Thomas Leroy Heath and Viola Marie Oliver Heath.



Pallbearers will be: Michael Estes, Christopher Worthen, Cody Worthen, Doug Worthen, Zachery Worthen, Marcus Bundrant, Eric Worthen, and Allan Garlow.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Lucas Garlow, and Tyemon Worthen.
