Donald Dixon

Funeral Services for Don Dixon, 93, will be on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church on San Mateo Road in Milan. The Reverend Dr. Martin Bayang will officiate. A luncheon buffet will be served following the service.



Don was born on April 6, 1918, in Denver, Colo., to the late Lillian and Ben Dixon and peacefully passed away on July 16, 2011, after a lengthy illness at his home in Grants with his wife by his side.



Before retirement he was a mechanical engineer and worked for the Anaconda Mining Co. for more than 27 years. Prior to joining Anaconda he served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.



He is survived by his wife of 30-years: Connie Dixon; brother: Ben and wife Dee of Missouri; daughters: Vicki Mirabal and husband Ruben, Donna Ashwill and husband Tom, and Dianne Orrell Lopez and husband, Al, all of Albuquerque; Laura Orrell Leinneweber and husband, Mike of Las Cruces; son: Dale and wife Laura, of Anchorage, Ak.; grandchildren: Brandi Clark and husband Jim of Lubbock, Texas; Tammy Bateson and husband Jordan, Justin Mirabal and wife Amanda, Arlene Mirabal, all of Albuquerque; McKensey Nall and Wyatt Nall of Las Cruces; great-grandchildren: Ava, Addison and Colbey Bateson and Brodi and Brice Clark.



He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Joan; grandson: Ben Ashwill; brother: Lem Dixon; sister: Doris Dixon.



The family wants to express its heartfelt appreciation to the love and support provided by the many caregivers who were involved in caring for Don



ln lieu of flowers, the family has requested for memorial contributions be made in Don's memory to All Saints Episcopal Church.
