Memorial Services for Donald Reagan Choat, 70, of Grants, N.M., will be held on Saturday-January 12, 2013-11:00 AM at Compassion Mortuary in Grants, NM. Pastor Garland Moore will officiate.
Donald was born in McGregor, Texas, on Dec. 13, 1942, to Oscar and Katharine Choat.
He passed away on Jan. 6, 2013, while visiting his son in Texas.
Donald will be buried in Gatesville, Texas, at a later date.
The Choat family moved to Grants in the early 1950s and Donald was a 1961 Grants High School graduate.
He was known by many area residents as "the man who walked the cat."
Donald was a member of the Central Baptist Church, 701 Sage Ave., in Grants.
He made many friends during his years in Grants and will be missed by all who knew him.
Donald is survived by his son: Michael, of Allen, Texas; and three grandchildren: Megan, Michael, and Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Oscar and Katharine Choat; and his brother, Richard
